Las clasificaciones se calculan a partir de hechos deportivos publicados por los propios circuitos, sus promotores, la prensa especializada y los reglamentos oficiales. Cada dato conserva su procedencia y su fecha, y la metodología completa —incluidos el algoritmo y sus parámetros— está publicada en este sitio. Rankings are calculated from sporting facts published by the tours themselves, their promoters, the specialist press and official rulebooks. Every data point retains its source and date, and the full methodology — algorithm and parameters included — is published on this site.

Cuando el acceso a una fuente requiere autorización de su titular, OWPR la obtiene por escrito antes de utilizarla. Where access to a source requires the rights holder's authorisation, OWPR obtains it in writing before use.

4. Exactitud y responsabilidad4. Accuracy and liability

OWPR pone medios razonables para que los datos sean correctos, y publica el grado de cobertura de cada torneo. Aun así, las clasificaciones pueden contener errores u omisiones derivados de las fuentes. No se garantiza la exactitud, la actualidad ni la disponibilidad continua del servicio, y las clasificaciones no deben usarse como base única para decisiones económicas, contractuales o deportivas. OWPR takes reasonable care to ensure the data is correct and publishes the coverage level of every tournament. Even so, rankings may contain errors or omissions inherited from the sources. No warranty is given as to accuracy, timeliness or continuous availability, and the rankings should not be used as the sole basis for financial, contractual or sporting decisions.

5. Propiedad intelectual5. Intellectual property

La marca OWPR, el diseño del sitio, la metodología y las clasificaciones derivadas son titularidad de Global Padel Association. Los hechos deportivos en sí no son objeto de apropiación por nadie. Las marcas de circuitos y competiciones citadas pertenecen a sus titulares y se mencionan únicamente a efectos identificativos. The OWPR mark, the site design, the methodology and the derived rankings belong to Global Padel Association. The sporting facts themselves are owned by no one. Tour and competition marks are the property of their respective owners and are referenced for identification purposes only.

7. Quién es dueño del ranking, y por qué eso está bien7. Who owns the ranking, and why that is sound

OWPR pertenece a la Global Padel Association y va a seguir perteneciéndole. Conviene explicarlo, porque un ranking cuyo propietario no se examina es un ranking en el que no hay que confiar. OWPR belongs to the Global Padel Association and will continue to. This deserves an explanation, because a ranking whose ownership goes unexamined is a ranking not to be trusted.

El artículo 7 de los Estatutos de GPA fija como finalidad «el fomento del pádel, en todo el mundo, asegurando su crecimiento sostenible y equitativo a través de un modelo inclusivo, democrático, transparente y sostenible». Un ranking que cuenta a todos los circuitos con la misma regla publicada es precisamente eso, en forma de herramienta. OWPR no está alojado en una asociación cualquiera: está alojado en la asociación cuyo objeto es lo que el ranking hace. Article 7 of GPA's statutes sets its purpose as “the promotion of padel worldwide, ensuring its sustainable and equitable growth through an inclusive, democratic, transparent and sustainable model”. A ranking that counts every tour by the same published rule is exactly that, in the form of a tool. OWPR is not housed in some arbitrary association: it is housed in the association whose stated object is what the ranking does.

Ningún sector mandaNo sector rules

GPA está abierta a todos los actores del pádel, y ese es su diseño: federaciones, ligas, clubes, organizadores, jugadores, técnicos y árbitros. Sí, entre ellos hay algunos de los que OWPR clasifica. Lo que impide que eso se convierta en captura es el reparto del voto del artículo 13: GPA is open to every actor in padel, and that is by design: federations, leagues, clubs, organisers, players, coaches and referees. Yes, some of those are parties OWPR ranks. What stops that becoming capture is the vote distribution in Article 13:

The Official World Golf Ranking has six owners, and all six are the four majors and the two biggest tours: one hundred per cent of its governance sits with the organisers of the competitions it rates, and its registered office is inside the headquarters of one of them.

Las reglas que atan a quien mandaThe rules that bind whoever is in charge

Un reparto de poder no basta por sí solo. Estas reglas se publican y se aplican desde hoy, y están recogidas en un reglamento interno de OWPR ya redactado, pendiente de aprobación por la Asamblea General: A distribution of power is not enough on its own. These rules are published and applied from today, and are set out in an internal OWPR regulation already drafted and pending approval by the General Assembly:

• Deber de abstención. Ningún miembro participa en decisiones sobre inclusión, ponderación o cálculo que afecten a su propia competición. Duty to abstain. No member takes part in decisions on inclusion, weighting or calculation affecting their own competition.
• Algoritmo publicado y cambios anunciados. El algoritmo y sus parámetros son públicos. Toda modificación se publica motivada y con preaviso antes de surtir efecto, de modo que nadie pueda cambiar la regla sobre un resultado ya producido. Published algorithm, announced changes. The algorithm and its parameters are public. Every change is published with reasons and advance notice before taking effect, so that no one can change the rule over a result already produced.
• Supervisión independiente. Corresponde al Consejo de Ética y Transparencia, que el artículo 32 de los Estatutos define como órgano independiente y permanente, con plena autonomía respecto de los órganos ejecutivos. Independent oversight. Vested in the Ethics and Transparency Council, which Article 32 of the statutes defines as an independent and permanent body with full autonomy from the executive organs.
• Decisiones motivadas y recurribles ante la comisión de resolución de conflictos, con mediación previa (artículos 81 a 84). Reasoned, appealable decisions before the dispute resolution commission, with prior mediation (Articles 81 to 84).
• Sin acceso privilegiado. Ningún miembro recibe los datos ni la publicación antes que el público. No privileged access. No member receives the data or the publication before the public does.

Aquí está la diferencia que importa, y no es de tamaño ni de intenciones. El OWGR se reserva por escrito la facultad de admitir a quien no cumple sus criterios y rechazar a quien los cumple, a su entera discreción. OWPR renuncia a esa facultad y publica el algoritmo que haría visible cualquier excepción. Here is the difference that matters, and it is not one of size or of intentions. The OWGR reserves in writing the power to admit those who fail its criteria and reject those who meet them, at its sole discretion. OWPR renounces that power and publishes the algorithm that would make any exception visible.

8. Ley aplicable8. Governing law

Este aviso se rige por la legislación española. Para cualquier controversia, las partes se someten a los juzgados y tribunales de Madrid, salvo que la norma aplicable imponga otro fuero.
